Vistra Makes Acquisition In Malta

Vistra, a provider of cross-border trust, fiduciary and fund services, has announced the acquisition of International Beneficiary Services, a Maltese firm which provides corporate services to high net worth individuals, institutional investors and international corporations. No financial details about the deal were disclosed. IBSL will now operate as Vistra Malta and will be led by IBSL directors Chris Sammut and Joanna Agius, as well as Rubrecht Rosman, who has been appointed as a director in Malta and will join the Vistra group’s executive board. He joins after a career including positions at a number of Netherlands-based fiduciary and trust firms. The acquisition means that Vistra Group, the result of a management buy-in of Chiltern’s private client business in London and Jersey in 2006, now operates in 16 jurisdictions. Towards the end of last year the firm was partly acquired by European private-equity firm IK Investment Partners.
